We’ve been watching her from afar for quite some time but this week at CannesDiane Kruger has really stepped under our fashion spotlight. A self-confessed Chanel-o-phile, she stepped out in two fantastic monochrome looks from the iconic French design house. The first, a black button front strapless shift looked, cool and casual as she posed in the sunshine for paparazzi at the photocall for her latest movie ‘Inglourious Basterds’. At the premiere (the one where Brangelina desperately hogged the red carpet, yawn) she switched to a floor length Marchesagown with a silver foil print and carried a Roger Vivier clutch, retaining her loyalty (just about) in Chanel Couture jewels. In another great white Jason Wu gown – the girl knows what suits her – she worked a relaxed-luxe Grecian look to attend the Jaeger-LeCoultre jewellery store opening, again paying great attention to understated, classic details with a black patent belt and matching Sergio Rossi clutch. But the look we ABSOLUTELY loved the most has to be the cute peplum-style frock she wore to the AMFAR Charity auction by, guess who? Chanel! She may not be the most colourful celeb on the red carpet but with dresses this great, who needs colour?
